Most likely, it depends on the Hypnotist, if they can allow your mind to relese things you might have forgotten, try others, like acupunture or feng shui

I spoke German as a child, and thought I lost it all, then I found someone that speaks German, and started talking to them. It comes back really quick. Just find someone that talks your native language, and call them on a regular basis, and relearn your language. It works. I did it.

According to most research in this field, the answer is “no”. Many memories that are recalled are frequently biased, or made up. Cole in 1979 found that hypnosis wasn’t any more effective in helping students improve their academic performance than traditional methods. i.e. it didn’t do squat.

Still, give it a shot! It would be an interesting experiment!

I believe that it can. Where hypnosis can be effective is in helping you recall. What I mean is that it helps you get out of your own way. I doubt the language was truly forgotten and that being around the language again would help refresh the memory. Language in many ways is a habit that we acquire and sometimes we just need help in getting back that habit. Where I can see hypnosis helping is in allowing us to reacquire that habit. We don’t have to think about what language we use, we just use it. It is done on the subconscious level. Automatically. Where the difficulty comes in is where we have to stop and think about it. This can cause us to think that task of relearning something might be more difficult than it is. Your question allows me to make the following assumption that there is a base of knowledge and you are just trying to get that base back. It would be different if you were trying to learn it the first time.
