Question by Pinky: Can I forget something through self hypnosis?
I have too much information on a subject that I wish I never learned. After finding out this secret, it haunts me every single day and I can’t stop thinking about it. Does anyone know of any type of self hypnosis that can be done to forget something you know or at least not be bothered by it anymore?

it will help you to be able to set a trigger to stop you from thinking about it but you will not be able to forget it. when you do the self hypnosis tell your self that if a word related to the subject comes into your thoughts to put it on Iggy

I am sorry to know that something so terrible has happened to you that you want to forget now. But, u can do one thing surely, get a gud friend rather than a self-Hypnosis therapy.
GUD Luck n better luck next time.

I’m not sure bout it but how i wish there is such thing. i heard of a story once where 2 people who love each other so much and 1 day the guy betrayed the girl and she was so upset. not a day goes by w/o her thinking of him and it really hurt her so much that she decided to go for a self hypnosis to 4get everything bout him. and it really works but im not sure how true that story is…. i guess u might want to seek professional help on this.

I “played around” with self-hypnosis over 30 years ago, and I also compiled the curriculum for a hypnotherapy school a friend opened a few years ago; and yes, you can “forget” something with self-hypnosis; but it’s not truly fogotten, only repressed. Repressed memories can really wreak havoc with your life, so I cannot recommend using self-hypnosis or the services of a qualified hypnotherapist in this situation.

Your best course of action is to find someone you truly trust. This could be a minister, a friend, a doctor, or a mental health professional. I am offering my ear and shoulder if need be (I’m an ordained minister, healer, and medium); but we would need to write back and forth a few times in order to establish the bond you need before I would want you to even THINK about sharing with me as great a secret as you’re evidently carrying. Naturally, anything we communicate about would be held in the strictest confidence.

it seems that you are in a state of thought rumination, which can took place after psychological trauma,as p.t.s.d.
theoretically speaking ,it is possible to auto hypnotize your self ,but the best way is to use some psychiatric help, to be able to live with it in peace.
