Question by spiritwise333: Do you think Yahoo should add a Miscellaneous category for drug use Health questions?
Alternative Health does not mean how to use / abuse illegal, over the counter or prescription drugs to get high. Alternative health questions should be about acupuncture, homeopathy, herbs, vitamin supplements, shiatsu, hypnosis etc. Would anyone else like to see a Miscellaneous category under Health questions for drug use related questions?

No, if anything they ought to add a substance use health section…but I have found many “drug” related questions find their way into this category & I think this is adequate.

YES, I think that Yahoo! Answers needs to add a ‘Miscellaneous’ or ‘Substance Use’ category under Health for drug use related questions. On occasion it may be appropriate to post under Alternative Health if it fits the definition of Alternative Health. Reflexology, Acupuncture, Kinesiology, Shiatsu, Massage, Homoeopathy, Essences, Herbs, Nutrition, Vitamins and minerals and other supplements, as well as Hypnosis, EFT and lots more all fit in this catagory.

Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) a large and diverse set of systems of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention based on philosophies and techniques other than those used in conventional Western medicine. Such practices may be described as alternative, existing as a body separate from and as a replacement for conventional Western medicine, or complementary, used in addition to conventional Western practice. CAM is characterized by its focus on the whole person as a unique individual, on the energy of the body and its influence on health and disease, on the healing power of nature and the mobilization of the body’s own resources to heal itself, and on the treatment of the underlying causes, not symptoms, of disease.
