Question by Barbara: How can i try the post hypnotic suggestion?
Once i get into a trance state, during self hypnosis, how can i give myself a post hypnotic suggestion that wil take an immediate effect and last as long as i want it to last when i wake up? Is this possible? Please explain what you know about my question in detail. I would really like to try this. Thank you.

The “trick” to a post-hypnotic suggestion is to have a trigger, something that “tells” you to perform as per the suggestion.

As well as a trigger, the suggestion must be something you are capable of doing, and that does not go against your ethical grain (well, that doesn’t cause you to drop out of the “suspended disbelief”). You can’t suggest that you will believe something you know to be false, for example, or that you know is really bad to do. It also has to have a real physical expression – the subconscious mind can’t react with negative or abstract ideas.

The suggestion will last until it’s negated, either in another session or because you drop out of suspended disbelief..

Does it work? Well, I could hypnotise my sister, and get her to believe that the number 5 did not exist, so she’d count 1, 2, 3, 4. 6, 7, 8 , 9, 10. But my brother couldn’t latch onto the suggestion – he’s stop at 4, look extremely puzzled, and then continue with 5.

  1. Normand says:

Hypnosis does work and is proven, and I have used it personally. However it does not work for most people. If it did you would have hypnosis clinics on every corner. There are better methods that you can use that are similar to hypnosis that are more effective and less expensive.
