Hypnosis and Christianity Do They Conflict?

hypnosisandcross 300x225 Hypnosis and Christianity Do They Conflict?I was discussing hypnosis with a lady recently who raised an interesting question, “Aren’t you afraid of giving your mind over to someone else?”

Now the person I was speaking with was a devout Christian and of course that’s fine, as far as I’m concerned the beauty and complexity of our mind is a gift from God, and with free will, we can use it to our betterment or determent, that’ our choice.

However, in way shape or form do I believe that hypnosis is opening your mind to anything supernatural, either good or evil, it is simply opening a conduit to our subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind truly is a gift, and with great power comes great responsibility. The power is simply this, our subconscious will labor tirelessly to accomplish the goals that we give it, if those goals, dreams and aspiration are noble, then it will labor in that direction, if they are not noble, well that is where the responsibility part comes in. It is my responsibility to do as much as I can with my life, and while Christianity speaks of a better life beyond, it does not teach one to ignore the possibilities of this life, nor the good that can be accomplished.

A good friend of mine once spoke of taking care of number one, in that case he simply meant, if we don’t take care of ourselves in (business, health, spiritual, personal), how can we expect to take care of others?

Hypnosis is a way to tap into the great power that is within us all, and to use that power for good, our good and the good of humanity, simply makes good sense.

Not for a moment do I believe that hypnosis is opening our minds to great uncharted supernatural endeavors, rather opening us to the possibilities within each of us.

Most of us have seen, or at least heard about the stage hypnosis shows and the hypnotist telling someone to “cluck like a chicken”, then we’re amazed that the person actually does that. Is that mind control? No it is not, merely speaking to the child (or entertainer) within all of us. The man (or woman) who becomes part of the stage hypnosis show is enjoying the moment and allowing the suggestions from the hypnotist to free certain inhibitions he/she might otherwise have had.

That isn’t mind control, that’s entertainment.

After you read this, take a quiet moment to relax, breath deep and mentally say to yourself… “Tonight when I sleep, it will be a sound and restful sleep, when I wake, I will be completely rested, full of energy and ready to accomplish whatever the days brings.”

Our bodies are a marvel of complexity, and whether or not we believe or choose not to believe in a creator, it is a proven scientific fact that our subconscious minds are relentless in their pursuits. Take the responsibility to use your subconscious mind to accomplish greatness, it IS within your power to do so.
