Question by : Can hypnotherapy be used to reduce your resistance to alcohol?
I’m a heavyweight drinker- it takes at least 6 beers before I start feeling a little bit tipsy. As you can imagine, if I want to have a big night it can be rather expensive. I want to know if you can retrain the brain under hypnosis to get drunk off four or five drinks rather than 15.

Yes, but it takes a certain mindset to be hypnotized. Not anyone can be hypnotized.

    No, and I’m willing to bet that while you think you are acting sober, people looking or talking to you don’t share that opinion.

    Its really much better to remember that big night than to act a fool. And drunks are always acting like fools

    Stage hypnotists get people drunk on plain water.

    People who are told they are consuming orange juice containing a measured amount of alcohol become drunk even if they are just drinking orange juice. I couldn’t find details of this on the web, but the link below is about risk taking under the influence of imaginary alcohol. The way people behave when drunk is partly down to the culture they live in.

    Why do you feel the need to get drunk at all? Enjoy a couple of drinks with friends and call it a night, it saves all those problems like puking, fighting, hangovers etc, and will reduce the risk of serious illness and disease later on in life. Anyway, no hypnotism won’t help because your alcohol tolerance is physical rather than mental.

    Yes hypnosis could easily do that. You can also do it by cutting back on drinking for a while. Your liver will get used to not metabolizing so much alcohol and you will be more sensitive to it.
