Question by : How do you learn Ericksonian Hypnosis?
Could you please give me some tips on how to learn Ericksonian Hypnosis? It would be great, if you could recommend me some literature (I want to start as a newbie and end like an expert).

Thanks

You should learn it from a trainer who’s proficient in it, in conjunction with reading My Voice Will Go With You, or maybe Conversations with Milton Erickson. But just reading about Ericksonian hypnosis is about as effective as just reading about sex.

Or you could read the four-page summary of his approach in Hartland’s, and maybe come to the conclusion that Erickson’s approach is half standard techniques and beliefs that you probably already know, and half very skilled, inspired, and client-specific interventions that only someone like Erickson could come up with. The experience and authority required to do what he did probably can’t be taught, only gathered.
